Today, on May 7, 2026, "RusLine" Airlines has operated its first regular flight on an international direction Ufa - Sukhumi.
The grand opening of the new route took place at Ufa Airport with the participation of representatives of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Republic of Abkhazia, as well as the airport management. The first passenger who checked in was given a memorable gift.
The load was over 60%, which was a solid starting point for the new international service.
Upon arrival at Sukhumi Airport, the aircraft was greeted by a water arch symbolising the opening of the route, according to an aviation tradition. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Abkhazia and the airport management.
The launch of direct flights expands opportunities for the development of tourism, business cooperation and cultural exchange between Bashkortostan and Abkhazia.
Regular flights will be operated once a week until the middle of October 2026: on Thursdays from Ufa and on Wednesdays from Sukhumi.
The project was implemented with the joint work of "RusLine" Airlines, the governments and airports of both republics. The new connection enhances the transport connectivity of the regions and opens up wider access to the resorts and cultural heritage of the Black Sea coast of Abkhazia for residents of Bashkortostan.
