First flight from Yugra to Abkhazia
Today, June 28, 2025, «RusLine» Aviation Company operated its first flight on a new direction, Khanty-Manssiysk - Sokhumi. The airplane landed at Vladislav Ardzinba Sokhumi International Airport, where it was welcomed with an aviation tradition of a water arch.
The opening of the route was a response to numerous appeals from residents of Yugra and represents a strategically important step for the development of transport accessibility in the region. The new flight opens up wide opportunities for tourism, business trips and cultural exchange between the Khanty-Manssiysk Autonomous Area and the Republic of Abkhazia.
The meeting of the first flight was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Abkhazia. Passengers were treated to national sweets, presented with memorable souvenirs, and a festive programme was held on the forecourt.
Regular flights will be operated twice a week, on Mondays and Saturdays, until the end of October 2025.
